Bernie's Bernie's is great for a quick and delicious meal. Also, this place is the most reasonable spot on River St. The barbeque is out of this world. You may want to stay a while; the relaxed atmosphere and friendly waitstaff will lure you in. (Try the sweet tea!) *115 E. River St. *236-1827 Fiddler's Crab House If you want some of the best seafood on River St., definitely stop in Fiddler's. The crablegs are fantastic! Often there will be live music at night (usually around 8pm). *2 Barnard St. *644-7172 Huey's This place is great for breakfast and brunch. They have good southern food, sometimes with a Cajun touch. *115 E. River St. *234-7385 Savannah River House Seafood There is no question. The River House is the best restaurant on River St. Besides the charming environment (watch the ships sail by), the River House offers exquisite entrees and desserts. I recommend the lobster bisque to start, as well as the pecan pie or praline cheesecake for dessert. *125 W. River St. *234-1900 Shrimp Factory As the River House's sister restaurant, the Shrimp Factory serves some of the tastiest seafood on River St. *313 E. River St. *236-4229 Boar's Head Grill and Tavern Yet another sister restaurant of the River House, the Boar's Head is a great place for lunch. I recommend the Boar's Head for a quick soup and sandwich stop. *1 Lincoln St. *651-9660 Olympia Cafe The Olympia Cafe is high on my list of favorites. The food, as well as the drinks are reasonable. You can stop in for a delicious gyro or greek salad. But if you prefer, you can also sit in the dining area with waitstaff. I recommend grabbing a gyro and a five dollar daquiri, and sitting at the tables outside with your dog. *5 E. River St. *233-3131 Tubby's Tank House Tubby's has great seafood, and is located upstairs from Huey's. I suggest sitting on the balcony; the view is fantastic. *115 E. River St. *233-0770 Spanky's Spanky's is a Savannah favorite. They have reasonable prices and many menu choices. Live bands frequent this local hangout. *317 E. River St. *236-3009 Dockside Seafood This is just one of many great seafood restaurants on River Street. Balcony seating is available. *201 W. River St. *236-9253 Chart House The tranquil ambiance of the Chart House, combined with their delicious entrees, will keep you coming back to this fabulous restaurant. *202 W. Bay St. *234-6686 One-Eyed Lizzies Great mexican food and exceptional margaritas make Lizzy's worth the walk to the East end of the street. *417 E. River St. *341-8897 Contributed by Kelly Fischer
