The Open-Air Market
First of all, they have bathrooms! Also, the market is filled with products from independent vendors. Shop around for unique items. The vendors are constantly introducing new creations. Also, different vendors come and go.

First Friday on the River
On the first friday of every month, vendors set up craft tents. They set up between Drayton and Abercorn ramps on the side of the street by the river. They sell anything from jewelery, to handmade clothing, to glass suncatchers. Also, there is a fireworks display at 9:30 pm. Call the Savannah Waterfront Association for information on upcoming events.

Street Artists
Take a break from your walking, and stop to view some beautiful artwork from one of the locals. They usually display their paintings around them, as they paint. Take some time to talk with the artists; they are usually quite friendly.

Street Musicians
This is one of the aspects of Savannah that makes our city so unique (and fun!). You will see saxophonists, guitarists, banjo players, singers, bongo players, and others along the street. Right across from the Abercorn ramp, a group gets together every evening to entertain visitors. The nicest musician is Bob, who will gladly play his "Homegrown Tomato" song for you.

Street Entertainers
Between Drayton and Abercorn ramps, on the river side, people perform various acts. There is usually a guy on a tall unicyle that juggles fire. Often you can catch the amazing break dancers . Other dance troupes and singers perform as well.

Savannah Roses
Take a hand-crafted palmetto rose home to remember your trip to Savannah. Shop around first. There are a lot of people who will try to sell them to you. Ugie, AKA Red, makes the best ones on River Street!
